Attachments can be automatically created from an action (like the approval of a Drawing resulting in its PDF file being automatically created and attached), or users can manually include supplemental documents as Attachments (perhaps the user receives detailed specification requirements from an outside resource). Attachments are unique in that they do not require life-cycle processing and users can search for specific Attachments. To help the users quickly identify which documents have an Attachment, the document’s record includes a paperclip Visual Cue (just like Outlook).
